ABOUT HSI DURATEK
Founded in 1927
In 1927 the Holt family first started the business with the opening of Holt Firestone, a tire business in Des Moines IA. Since then it has diversified into different divisions in the tire and axle industry, including Holt Sales Inc. which started as a spinoff of the original Holt Tire in 1996. Originally selling reconditioned trailer wheels. As the business grew, there was a demand for a complete, trailer tire and wheel assembly for the OEM trailer industry, in the upper Midwest. Holt Sales rose to the opportunity and concentrated on bringing an excellent service to the wholesale market for ST tire and wheel assemblies.
Around the year 2000, Holt Sales also expanded heavily into the small agricultural market supplying manufacturers with a quality product that they could rely on. The next decade would see Holt Sales move to a new mounting and distribution facility six blocks east of the Iowa State Capitol and shorten their name to HSI. In 2015 HSI Duratek expanded into axle manufacturing and supplying trailer components, offering both spring and torsion axles as well as many custom options to meet our growing market demands.
